The Game urges gay rappers to come out

RnB/Hip Hop | Thursday 8th September 2011 | Osh

Rapper The Game has urged his rap peers to come clean to their fans and come out of the closet. The Pot of Gold rapper made the controversial comments on VLAD.TV when asked if ever a gay rapper with Eminem’s skill could expect the same kind of success. “I think there are several rappers that are in the closet and gay,” the rapper replied. “They are the only type of gay people that I have a problem with. Game don’t have a problem with gay people. Game has a problem with people who are pretending not to be gay.”

When pressed to reveal any gay rappers he may of worked with in the past he added “[He was] not being just full-out gay, just pretending he loves girls and lives the rap lifestyle, but really he’s a man fan.” Although his honest and frank views were praised by many, his comments about gay men spreading the H.I.V. virus angered people who argued that there is no link between homosexuality and AIDS. “It's totally retarded to assimilate being gay with AIDS,” said one reader on VLAD.TV’s website. This wouldn’t be the first time rappers have been exposed for their alleged homosexuality; in 2005 the infamous video vixen Karrine Steffans released her bestselling book “Confessions of a Video Vixen” and claimed a host of unnamed rappers were apparently in the closet.
