Club Review: The Sutton

Wednesday 31st July 2013 | jack

Exuding glitz, glamour and exclusivity, if you find yourself sipping a cocktail and getting to know the affluent bourgeois that makes up The Sutton Club’s clientele then you know you’ve done something right.

The entrada is located in Calle Tuset and usually takes the form of a dauntingly long line, packed with Spain’s young, rich and well dressed  all fighting for position and hoping not to be turned away by the harsh jury that is the social criterion of the club.

If you are lucky enough to make it through the line and past the doormen (do not expect a position on the guest list to guarantee you a place) then you will be welcomed into a sexy, stylish and hedonistic eden of cocktails, house music and gossip.

Since its inauguration in 2001 The Sutton Club has solidified its name on the hotlist of trendy places to be and is now known worldwide as a beacon of glamour and chic.  Almost as a bonus, The Sutton boasts a high quality sound system that has been graced by names such as Tyron Dixon, Laidback Luke and Calvin Harris to name a few.

The aesthetic of the club comes in the form of plush leather sofas, chandeliers, a chic and spacious dance floor and a lot of grey goose. As for the people, the strict dress code dictates that guests must be ‘Well dressed’ so be careful not to get this wrong. Dress down and you will be scoffed out for looking like a street urchin, dress up and you will be expelled for bringing town the young and vibrant tone.

Don’t be mad though, chic elitism is all part of the vibe at The Sutton.
