T in The Park Review

Wednesday 17th July 2013 | Daniela

A Weekend to Remember

On the weekend, I attended T in the Park. I did the whole camping from Thursday experience and much to my surprise, I survived. What I learnt was that the Scottish definitely know how to throw a good festival. The atmosphere throughout every day was incredible, everyone was so happy, maybe due a bit to the drink but mainly to the excitement to see the acts perform. It’s not a festival if you don’t get the occasional beer thrown on you but that’s what makes it a festival. The weather throughout the whole weekend was unreal especially for Scotland, I’m sure everyone caught a tan or got sunburnt.

The acts I really enjoyed watching were Alt-J, The Killers, The Script and Mumford and Sons. The Script really had the crowd going and their interaction with them was fantastic. Lead singer Danny O’Donoghue even attempted to crowd surf with was a complete nightmare for security but a dream come true for the ladies by the barrier. Much to my surprise when Mumford and Sons played their headlining set the crowd wasn’t as packed out as I thought it would be. The reason behind this was Calvin Harris, the much loved Scotsman, clashed with the English band.

Another act I found to be really good was Alt-J the band really got the crowd singing along and the atmosphere was buzzing. They are incredible live, I chose to see them instead of Rihanna and I’m glad I made that decision I manage to catch the start of her set and she just kept forgetting her words and not really singing aside from the odd line here and there, quite disappointing to be honest. I was really looking forward to seeing singer Tom Odell but he only sang two songs due to a throat infection, which was a real shame. The Killers closed T in the Park and they did a tremendous job, they sang all their classics making everyone go wild. It’s always great so see

Massive congratulations should go to the organisers and specially the cleaners for clearing up the park every night after all the mess that was left around. Overall T in the Park was a great success and although many criticised the line-up I’m sure a lot of Scotland turned up and loved it.
