Overcrowded, overpriced and overdue, it can only be trains in the UK

It seems as though all those months back when Jeremy Corbyn was pictured sitting on the floor of a UK train, perhaps there was some truth in the matter.
As if ending up next to the toilets on a congested, already late and expensive train wasn’t enough, Londoners and those who commute into the city are now feeling, even more, outrage as it has been announced that train prices are set to further increase in the UK.
From January 2018, train users will see fares increase by 3.6%, meaning that already pricey and unaffordable journeys will be even more expensive and it is claimed that daily commuters will be the worst affected.
Protesters have gathered outside Kings Cross station in central London to try and fight against the price increase. But with the cost of housing in London already being over the top expensive and trains outside of the city also being high-priced, it seems like there is no solution for those wanting a career within the capital.
An upfront example of the price of train fares from the start of next year will be, for a yearly pass from Sheffield to London, an increase from an already extortionate £10,040 (for a 2-hour journey) to a ridiculous £10,401!
Whilst a train ticket from Derby to London return, for example, (which is around a 1-hour, 30-minute journey) currently costs a whopping £138.50 last minute and will increase to £143.50 to catch the train on the spur of the moment.
That’s £1.59 per every minute of sitting in an overcrowded train coach feeling sick next to the toilets whilst first class has 90% of its seats free but are even more unaffordable.
Until something changes and the rail stops being continuously privatised as the prices increase, it looks like it’s a five-hour coach journey for my trip home for Christmas this year!
