5 must see acts for the return of Southport Weekender!

Other | Monday 29th May 2017 | Nicky

The veteran party weekender reignites its 28 year old history for a one day festival. Moving to London's Finsbury Park, Southport Weekender promises to deliver a diverse program of music through legendary artists who have all pioneered their selected genres at some point in their lengthy careers.

After having said goodbye to the original weekender at back in 2015 and turning their attentions to their new created project, SuncéBeat, the organisers are now hosting this one day festival, bringing together classic Drum and Bass, Techno, Garage, Soul and Hip-Hop for this one day spectacle.

Here are five of our favourites to catch on the day.

Kerri Chandler

The king. Anybody who has ever seen Kerri play knows that he can make any party pop. His sets are jammed packed full of classics as well as a whole heap of bangers you've never heard before. He is top of the list on any line up to see. Always!

Jazzy Jeff

There's not much that needs to be said about Jazzy Jeff. From the early days on Fresh Prince, he's a DJ that has perfected his craft. His mixing is something that needs to be experienced and it will blow your mind. The last time we saw him play was in Amsterdam for ADE followed by DJ W!ld. Pure vibes. This is one not to miss.

LTJ Bukem

Bukem's big bassy sound and top notch productions have made him a pioneer of dnb. His signature smooth sound is instantly recognisable and has cemented his status as a legend. A DJ who prides himself on performance and giving you the perfect experience, this is a set to make sure you catch.

Culoe de Song

Culoe de Song has come a long way from a feature in Black Coffee's second offering, “Have Another One. He has continuously put out high level productions year after year earning himself a reputation worldwide and his sets are something special.

Fabio & Grooverider

There isn't a party on the planet that Fabio & Grooverider can't rock. This is a partnership that was meant to be and with 25 years under their belt together, a lot of practice getting crowds bruking out! With a mix of serious liquid funk vibes and old school classics, the pair will roll it out on the Funkbase Arena stage.

Southport Weekender have always been renowned for their vibe, up for it crowd, on point line up and chalet after parties. Whilst this spectacle won't have any chalets, we can't wait for all rest.
