Breaking Down Trump's Ridiculous Muslim Ban

So unless you’ve been living on Mars for the past week, you’ll be aware that President Donald Trump passed a law effectively banning Muslims from several countries from entering the USA. And make no mistake, whatever anyone else may call it, this is a Muslim ban, plain and simple. During his campaign, he famously said "Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the Unites States, until our representatives can figure out what the hell is going on”, and now, I’m truly sorry to say, he’s living up to his promise. By the way, never trust someone who refers to themselves in the third person.
Former New York City mayor and Trump associate Rudy Giuliani let slip in a televised interview with right-wing network Fox News that Trump called him asked how to legally enact a Muslim ban (jump to 3:12 in the video below). So there are no doubts as to the President's real intentions.
Now, there are 1.6 billion muslims in the world. The idea of banning 1.6 billion people from entering a country is just preposterous to say the least. Talk about blaming the majority for the minority. Secondly, the list of countries on the ban makes absolutely no sense. The chart below breaks down why the ban is utterly ridiculous.
As you can see, citizens from the countries that fell victim to Trump's ban have not killed any American citizens from 1975 all the way to 2015. However, the countries of whom citizens have killed Americans are not included because Trump happens to have business deals with them. So Saudi Arabia, a country where the government and laws represent the most extreme right-wing version of Sunni Islam (they behead people for sorcery and witchcraft), are not affected, whereas Iran, who represent the more liberal Shia denomination and are even fighting extremist groups such as ISIS, are. Does that make sense to you? It sure doesn't to me.
Trump also said that he plans to make Christian refugees a top priority. Which is also Because in the US, they have this thing called the Constitution. And the First Amendment of said constitution reads "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion". And giving priority to Christian refugees sure sounds like respecting an establishment of religion to me. But keep in find that Trump's Vice President is a religious fundamentalist who passed discriminatory "Religious Freedom Restoration Act" back when he was governor of Indiana (he also argued that smoking doesn't kill). So it's no surprise that Trump passed such a ridiculous bill with someone like Pence hissing in his ear.
The ban is also illegal because in 1965 Congress ruled that people cannot be "discriminated against in the issuance of an immigrant visa because of the person’s race, sex, nationality, place of birth or place of residence." But again, you can't exactly trust Trump to do his research.
And let's not even go into all the horror stories of children and elderly people being detained at airports because the current President decided to try to play God. We can only hope that all of the people who voted for this clown are now seeing him for what he really is and will vote blue in 2020. I don't think the world can survive an extra four years of Trump being in office.
