MBE for Goldie in this New Year’s Honours list

Among the 1,196 people on the Honours list this New Year is the drum & bass pioneer, Goldie.
The DJ/producer, real name Clifford Price is a beacon of UK music. He’s responsible for one of the most iconic albums of drum & bass’ history – Timeless, whilst heading up the infamous Metalheadz imprint. His MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) has been awarded to him for his outstanding efforts in recordings, film and charity work.
Following the announcement Goldie took to Twitter to thank his supporting cast “THANKYOU, to my unsung heroes/heroines: Kemi storm, Grooverider, Fabio, Docscott, Reinforced, Frost, Headzfamily”. Also writing on Twitter he said “THANKS for all the kind words it’s been a long journey..and the beginning of a new one @metalheadz 4 life”.
Also on the list this year is actor and DJ Idris Elba and the front man of Blur, Damon Albarn.
