Poland - Music Summer

Poland is a small country in eastern Europe, by many people it is an underestimated place for summer vacations. You could not be more wrong, especially for young, crazy and fun people. Throughout the summer in Poland there are a lot of festivals with different types of music. Everyone can find something that they like. Not only the festivals, but also the huge stars from all over the world are planning their tours with stops in the cities around the Poland. If not the music concerts, then the atmosphere will make the trip worhtwhile, people here simply love to party and have fun. Poland is in European Union so travelling is easy, but it doesn’t have the Euro yet, so it is much cheaper than in many of European countries. That adds a point in favour for the trip. For example, while paying for Beyoncé concert in London you had to pay £80. In Poland for whole day and Beyoncé concert at a festival in a huge National Stadium you spend just £50. Partying in Poland is cheap but just as much fun as anywhere else in the world
As mentioned before, you can find every type of concerts during the summer. Beyoncé, Rihanna, Rudimental, Kings of Leon, HIM are just few names of artists/bands that decided to perform in Poland just this summer. Not only single concerts but also whole festivals are standard every summer in this country. For example: Warsaw Orange Festival, Ursynalia, Sunrise, Coke live festival, Heineken Open'er and more.
Many don’t know that going to many of these music events will give you unforgettable memories and experiences. Additionally, Poland has variety of places to see. It goes from seaside at the north through, lake areas in the middle and to mountains at the south. For example if you like house music and want to get some tan at the beach, choose Sunrise Festival. If you are more of a city person choose the festivals in the biggest cities in Poland and experience some wild nightlife there. There is a lot to choose from.
Annual Festivals in Poland:
Warsaw Orange Festival (25-26.05.13)
It’s a great festival in the centre of Polish capital (Warsaw). This year instead of being held in the Pepsi Arena the festival was held in the new National Stadium. Like every year Orange – the sponsor the event, bringing in great music names. This year the two days have big names performers such as: Beyoncé (Mrs. Carter Show World Tour), Tinie Tempah, The Offspring, and Fatboy Slim.
Heineken Open’er Festival (3-6.06.13)
Heineken sponsors Open’er like in the full name and every year it turns the Polish seaside in one big party. The Festival is in Gdynia one of the main cities in the north of country. This year, the event starred the likes of Kings of Leon, Rihanna, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Kendrick Lamar, Crystal Fighters and more.
Sunrise Festival Poland (26-28.07.13)
It is the huge house, electro, dance festival, which last year had its 10th anniversary, it tries to bring the biggest electronic music artists together. Last year it brought such names like David Guetta, Soni Alex Bextor, Arman van Burean and Tiesto. All electro fans should put this festival in their calendar. Sunrise festival has been held in many European countries and every year it is also held in Kolobrzeg in Poland. This seaside city turns into electro capital where this year 32 artists will make sure that you have the best three nights of your life.
Coke live Festival (9-10.08.13)
This Festival is in Krakow, one of the biggest and most popular cities in the Poland. Not only the festival but also the city itself is worth seeing. Every year we can see and hear biggest artist from various genres. For example this year there are going to performances from Biffy Clyro (rock), Brodka (pop), Florence and the Machine (indie rock), Franz Ferdinand (indie rock), Katy B, Regina Spector, Wu-Tang Clan (hip-hop).
