Flavour of the Week: Caipirinha
Wednesday 20th March 2013 | Osh
If Brazilians aren't fighting the heat with Skol beer or Guaraná, the country's alternative to Coca-Cola, they're sipping on their national cocktail: Caipirinha. The cooling concoction is made with cachaça, a sugarcane-based spirit, lime, sugar and plenty of crushed ice. Variations include Caipiroska with vodka substituting the cachaça, or Capifruta, a fruity alternative. As an IBA Official Cocktail, expect to see it in London's high end bars and clubs, or why not try making it at home for a refreshing taste of the carnival spirit?
