Coachella 2013: Resurrected Once Again
Tuesday 12th March 2013 | Hanan
It has dawned upon us friends, we have indeed hit that ever dissipating point of the year, that niggling moment whereby we are, longingly looking back at Coachella 2012 for that surreal California summer vibe and scandal, not that many of us were able to join in lamentably. Enriched with the theme of tribal Mexican Navajo influences last year with long hippy skirts, tassels, peace bracelets and flower power giving Coachella its classic 70's stamp, it has been described as the crescendo of all festivals. But now we can finally look forward rest assured always a promise of warm Indie nights, incredible music and definite affirmation of an insane three days. That my friends is the beckoning buzzing of Coachella 2013 and acts have indeed been announced, with rumors circulating previously as to who will be taking the stage this year, I reckon all of us here in London are just about ready to adamantly refuse those harsh high blistering winds and substitute it for some cool collections of pulsating California Sonancy.
Of course Coachella is an annual three-day music and arts festival, founded by Paul Tollet held at the empire polo club in Indio in the Inland Empire's Coachella Valley: prided on a culmination of the greatest established musical artists of our day with the line up including the: Yeah Yeah Yeah's, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Blur, 2 Chainz, Bat for Lashes, Local Natives. With smatterings of the classics: Passion Pit and Band of Horses amongst the many more revealed. With the likes of my new personal favorites: The Lumineers who have erupted across the indie folk scene this year up for best Americana album and Best New Artist, heavily featured on the new fascinatingly twisted MTV show "Catfish". Unfortunately The Rolling Stones have been reported to be touring in the UK as Mick Jagger told NME, which is great for us, but alas quite a blow for the festival, what an impenetrable line up that would have been. Not only is this one of the most anticipated festival events of the year, this has increasingly become the ultimate point of a cult like congregation for the rich and famous. Including a nice pic 'n mix variety of the usual eye candy with a culmination of: Artists, Victoria's Secret models and Actors such as: Katy Perry, Penn Badgeley, Snoop Dog, Gwyneth Paltrow, Rosie Huntington- Whitely, Dita Von Teese and Josh Duhamel to name but a few. A platform has emerged for the celebrity thus to showcase: their next squeeze, most current fashions and demonstrate the powers of seduction via brooding looks from combination power couples from all over the industry. The greatest beauty in this however, is that they will be casually swanning around the grounds amongst civilian folk, which must be a treat for the fine specimens of the West Coast. Last year Coachella ultimately outdid itself causing quite the controversial stir heavily breaking headlines when they were able to induce shivers down the backs of our worlds population in bringing Tupac back to life via Hologram. I am so eagerly aflamed to see to what on earth they may bring out of the bag this year perhaps Micheal Jackson emerging from behind the mist alongside Jimmi Hendrix & Curt Cobain now wouldn't that be an explosive show and a half. It will without a shadow of a doubt spark ethical controversy which may be exactly what they aim to induce. Coachella has to be referred to as some sort of bug to be caught as the feverish sounds of anticipating fans looking onto that burning sunlit stage of California is already echoing through my ears, I cannot wait to see how amplified that electricity running along that West Coast of America will become, it will be unstoppable. The world will be looking on from April 12th through April 14th where it will be kicking off. The line up reiterated April 19th through to April 21st. I will undefinatly be tuning in, one to watch.
