Despite the fact that Hop Farm Festival owner Vince Power owed thousands of pounds to last years acts, he has defiantly anounced in a local Kent newspaper that;
"It was always my intention to do the Hop Farm, I have the rights to do the Hop Farm and the Hop Farm will take place from July 5-7, 2013. At the moment, we have sold a small amount of early bird tickets and we are confirming acts. We hope to announce the bill very shortly.
For those of you who haven't heard of Hop Farm, the back story is that it brings back the classic sounds of the 60's, 70's and 80's adn their original (if not disbanded) acts. Previous guests include Morrisey, Prince, Iggy Pop, Patti Smith and Brandon Flowers.
At the time of the festivals administration, Vince and his coworkers owed Peter Gabriel £100,00, Suede £46,000 and Bruce Forsyth £9,000. Other debts included £22,643 which the festival owed the local police, a wopping total of £4.6 million was owed at the instance of Hop Farms collapse.So what to expect for 2013? It's unpredictable as of yet, but Vince being friends with the familiar face of the festival, Bob Dylan, it might be a safe bet to say that the wailing 70's star might yet again be back on the bill..joy.
