If, like me, you have been looking on Facebook, trawling through twitter and overhearing the smoking-area ramblings at DNB nights across the land, you will have no doubt heard the rumours surrounding a possible new album from Calibre this year. If you've been looking more recently, you would have noticed that those rumours are true.
Calibre himself has confirmed not one, not two, but a possible four musical offerings this year. A long awaited release of the Shelflife EP, a new DNB album, a Dominic Martin LP and a Fabriclive mix. This is enough to create a trouser twitch for any Calibre fan. Any music from a man that has put together some of (I think) the greatest tracks out there (including one that happens to be one of my personal favourites) can only be a good thing.
Release dates haven't been confirmed yet, names haven't been finalised and tracks are still being produced - but it doesn't stop me being excited already. When the albums drop, keep it locked to Guestlist - I'll make sure we have them covered.
