Critical Moves
Drum and Bass |
Monday 11th February 2013 | Alfie
To anybody that is familiar with Critical Music, their scintillating roster of new talent and extensive back catalogue of powerful drum and bass - the news that they're taking over Room 1 at Fabric in the coming months will be no surprise. It will come as even less of a surprise to anybody that's been slapped with the sonic force of a Critcal Music set.
Started in 2002 by the visionary Kasra, the label has gone from strength to strength with huge releases from the man himself, along with some of the scenes biggest names - S.P.Y, Calibre and Total science to name just a few. What's exciting about the first ever Critical Music in Room 1 (Friday, March 22nd - write it on your face with a sharpie marker) is the line up of fresh talent. If you ask around for the "ones to watch" in 2013, the names that dominate the smoking areas of dnb nights and online forums all happen to be part of the Critcal family - Mefjus, Emporer, Ivy Lab... The list goes on.
If you need a little taster of what you can expect then check out Fabric Live 62 mixed by Kasra (live, at Fabric - the clue is in the name) released almost a year ago, it still sounds fresh today. So, it seems that not only has Kasra found the magic formula for running one of the best labels around - he's right on the money for what looks to be one of the best club nights too.
I expect to see you there, I'll be at the front.
