WILD vacation!
If you want to experience a thrilling and exiting winter amongst the fauna and flora, then the jungles of India can offer you a wide variety to explore; they are ideal for wildlife lovers, budding photographers, and people looking to try a vacation beyond the commonly visited tourist destinations.
A vacation among wildlife is not only a great way to rejuvenate your cells and connect with nature, but also to let your adventurous side come out as there are few dull moments on such vacations.
These jungles have now been converted into wildlife sanctuaries to preserve some of the most exclusive and rare species of animals found only in this country; the sanctuaries offer specialized services in the form of ‘jungle safari trips’ and jungle guides which can make this trip memorable.
The animal not to be missed on safari is the ‘Royal Bengal Tiger’; they are nearing extinction, hence they are a huge part of the preservation scheme by the government. Boasted to belong exclusively to the flora and fauna of India (and to some extent Bangladesh) these huge cats with their sheer strength, glossy striped fur, and élan are absolutely mesmerizing! They are a rare sight to catch as they are not very human friendly; however, it is easier to spot them out in the wee hours of early morning.
The Indian Peacock - this bird has a lovely royal blue velvety coat in and around its long curvy neck, complemented with a head crown, and with gorgeous feathers. It is said that the peacock opens up its feathers in dance to welcome rains or to please its mate. Its feathers are lush with deep colors and make for a breathtaking picture. White peacocks are rare but equally thrilling.
Python - these huge snakes grow up to almost 10 feet in length and have the potential to hunt and kill even a fully grown deer. These reptiles are slow moving but can strike their prey with speed, although they do not have a reputation for attacking humans or proving dangerous otherwise. These pythons are mostly found hidden in earthy surroundings and are placid in nature, thus one needs to pay attention to spot them.
Indian Elephants- although not exclusive just to India, it is one of the places to see these huge but gentle beings. Sadly these elephants are becoming extinct. These mammals are highly intelligent and matriarchal - famous for their ancestor worship. They can be temperamental and will attempt to scare humans away, and if angered then can cause havoc due to their sheer size and strength. However, if a human manages to strike a friendly cord wih these creatures, they are simply adorable due to their gentleness.
One place where they are found in large numbers is Jim Corbett National Park. To book a safari vacation, click here:
