City Showcase returns with more new talent

The festival is back for its 10th year bringing the latest in new music to London’s busy Regent Street.
London’s festival of new music, City Showcase, is celebrating its 10th birthday on the 13th October. To celebrate it is again taking over one of the biggest shopping areas in London: Regent Street. The festival aims to promote up and coming new artists and in the past has helped Amy Winehouse, Keane, Newton Faulkner, Razorlight and Scouting for Girls to burst into the industry.
This year, artists such as Jumeee, Danny Shah and The High Commissioners will be taking over a range of stores including The Apple Store, TM Lewin, Kirk Original and Uniqlo with discounts available in some shops for customers with City Showcase wristbands. There will also be a live music stage on Heddon Street featuring Tankus The Henge, Delphian Singers, Alice Watts and Toodar to add to the birthday celebrations.
Head over to the Amersham Arms on New Cross Road, where the festivals closing party will be taking place. This will see a round-up of the day’s talent alongside some more acts worth watching. The closing party will only be available for over 14s if you’re younger ensure you visit the shops to see the performances beforehand.
Alongside live performances, there are also opportunities to attend workshops which will take place both in The Apple Store and Gibson Guitar Studio on Rathbone Street. For more information on the event, programme details and wristbands visit www.cityshowcase.co.uk.
