On Friday 12th October, Vagabondz is hosting a pre-party ahead of Freeze Festival – the world class snowboarding, skiing and music festival hosted at Battersea Power Station. We’ll be setting Fire, Vauxhall, on fire with a line-up featuring some of the biggest names from the world of house, garage and UK bass. As one of South London's leading nightclubs, the venue boasts six dance arenas with world class Flare Audio sound systems, full colour lasers and fantastic lighting.
Topping the bill is Loefah, who rose to fame as one of the leading pioneers of dubstep alongside the legendary DMZ collective. Now running his Swamp81 label he’s overseen releases from the likes of Skream, Pinch and Ramadanman – this man is an absolute authority on underground music and guaranteed to get the party started.
Next up will be garage stalwart and Mercury Music Prize nominee MJ Cole. His music has influenced others to link the abstract and avant-garde with the mainstream. MJ Cole’s era defining album, Sincere is arguably one of the biggest influences on 21st Century dance music – and was a huge overground hit.
We’ve also booked the ever-popular Dark Sky, renowned for drawing influence from everything from original UK garage through to house, jungle and disco; the South Londonbased duo will be right at home. Their forward-thinking outlook on production and DJing has led to remixes for the likes of The XX and Stateless, releases that have been signed with consistent success and rave reviews.
Deadboy will be playing his garage-influenced tracks, which incorporate elements of many different genres, which are sure to get the crowd excited. With forthcoming shows booked across Europe, catch him whilst you can; he’s played sets recently at Fabric and Plastic People and produced mixes for FACT magazine and Radio 1.
Vagabondz is proud to support rising stars and give people more playlist inspiration, so we’ve arranged up and coming house and 2-step names Hackman, Tessela and Lorca to perform too.
