Pitchfork Music Festival Paris
Tuesday 25th September 2012 | Osh
The 2nd Paris edition will be headlined by M83, Animal Collective, Grizzly Bear and Robyn, amongst others.
Good news for indie fanatics! A great Festival is coming soon and it’s bringing the most popular artists of the music scene. Just check the line-up: M83, Animal Collective, Grizzly Bear, Robyn, James Blake, Fuck Buttons, Sébastien Tellier, Japandroids, Cloud Nothings, Liars and Simian Mobile Disco amongst others.
The Pitchfork Music Festival, which has been running in Chicago during the summer since 2005, is now also in Paris for second year in a row. If you are a Londoner, you can get there in only two hours on the Eurostar and it’s also great excuse to visit the capital of love, or these days, the capital of indie.
Pitchfork Media, a Chicago-based daily Internet publication specialized in music criticism and news, organizes this Festival which focuses on artists and bands from alternative rock, rap & hip-hop, electronica, and dance music, also featuring hardcore punk, experimental/avant-garde rock and jazz in its lineups. The Paris version will take place from 1st to 3d November 2012 in Grande halle de la Villette a stunning 19th century glass and metal structure that stands in the center of the Parc de la Villette, the city's largest public cultural park.
Pitchfork Music Festival Paris will also feature various other on-site activities. Our fellow music store in Shoreditch, Rough Trade, will visit with a pop-up booth offering records and T-shirts; and Le Super Market, will sell food and an array of goods from Parisian designers, with DJs in tow.
To warm up the engine, an opening party will take place the 31th October at Le Trabendo, a wicked way to celebrate Halloween featuring Melody's Echo Chamber, Lotus Plaza, Clinic and College. And for those that never have enough, two official afterparties will take place from midnight to 6.am. on the 1st and 2nd November presented by R&S Records and Italians Do It Better respectively.
