Amon Tobin ISAM AV Preview - 12th May

Drum and Bass | Monday 30th April 2012 | Osh

Back again to show off one of the most incredible live audio-visual shows around.

This Brazillian-born electronic artist is renowned for his explorative and off-kilter manner of doing things and this latest feat only further proves that point. Having been signed to the Ninja Tune label since 1996, Amon Tobin has had a seriously lengthy career in electronica, passing through and leaving his mark on loads of people, artists and the worldwide scene as well. Without even having any knowledge of his work, being signed to Ninja Tune for such a long time pretty much grants him a very big and shiny ‘trusted artist’ gold star. If you know of Amon’s music, you’ll be aware of his clearly non-mainstream sound created by a mix of off-key beats and a huge load of sampling and audio manipulation, and with this show he will be mixing his sounds up with a very ambitiously-sized visual projection.

After taking this one of a kind performance around the states and only twice in the UK, Amon Tobin is finally bringing the show to Brixton next month, which is exciting for anyone who’s been a fan of his from the start, or even anyone who fancies being mesmerised by the combination of incredible sounds and visuals shown on a very large and unusual looking canvas. It’s pretty hard to describe something on this scale in writing, so I suggest you take a look at the video link below or get yourself on to the Soundcrash promoters who never fail us at www.soundcrashmusic.com for ticket information about the show at Brixton O2 Academy on May 12th. Judging by the reviews of his past AV shows, this is not gonna be a let-down and it’s only a couple of weeks away so get on it very soon before tickets run out.

Also, take a look at our interview with the talented Amon Tobin himself back when he released his current album, ISAM, where he chats to us a bit about his intentions with the AV shows and more.
