Walking away with the best female MC at the Drum and Bass awards, it is obvious that Lady MC is a vital part of the scene and has been since 1995. She has travelled an incredible journey to where she is now, building herself a reputation of one of the hardest working women in the music that she surrounds herself in. No wonder she was awarded best female MC. There are many things that make Lady MC stand out. Firstly the fact she is a woman, her voice and perception of the scene will be completely different to a males: this gives her the edge. There are no boundaries when it comes to her lyrics, talking about where she is heading and her journey to where she is now. In 2009 she set up the non profit campaign LUAA to help and support others wishing to follow her journey.
