He said it’s his biggest challenge yet and will pen the Diamond Jubilee song with Andrew Lloyd Webber.
The already talented pair will be on search for other top musicians to make sure the song is truly spectacular. They will perform the track at Buckingham Palace this summer.
The Take That front man who also judged hit reality show The X Factor said ‘I’m so thrilled and excited to be part of it.’
He will also travel to the Commonwealth countries to find out from ordinary people what the Queen means to them, in the lead up to the big June 4 performance. A documentary will be made to show his travels.
Barlow has posted a snap of him and Lord Webber on twitter with the caption ‘The Lord and me.’
The music legends hope to harness the talents of artists and musicians from countries such as Africa, the Caribbean, the Pacific Islands and Australasia.
Over a million people have already applied for tickets and the likes of Paul McCartney, Jessie J and Ed Sheeran have already been confirmed to take part in the gig.
