Voted number nine in Last FMs ‘Best of 2011’ list, Klaypex are definitely a duo to watch out for. Based in Canada, they are best friends that have been around for about six years. They started making rock music but have floating through many different genres before they found their calling in dubstep. Taking inspiration from the likes of Trent Reznor and Thom Yorke, they are a truly a unique two piece. They can take the most popular music into the world of dubstep and electronic, which can be seen from their first track, a remix of Katy Perry’s E.T, it’s a tune worth listening to. The track starts with a deep bass sound, and then a drop that takes it into a whole other level, with an electronic beat. It is epic, to say the least.
Their free EP came out in mid-2011, with original songs as well as remixes and is well worth a listen. If you look at their Soundcloud, they are coming out with new track every month. With an electronic dubstep sound, very similar to Skrillex, they are about to blow up. Big time.
