Foreign Beggars Interview

RnB/Hip Hop | Friday 16th December 2011 | Osh

The Foreign Beggars have been on tour a lot recently they have also been “trying to finish up a new album with Noisia” as well as “a new album with Alex Perez” so it is safe to say they have been very very busy! At The Guestlist Network we decided to mix things up and ask Metropolis from the Foreign Beggars a few quick fire TGN Randoms.

OK so a new feature we’ve got going on is TGN Randoms, I’ve got 10 quick fire questions for you, are you ready?

OK I’m ready.

Where is the weirdest place you have ever slept?

At the bottom of an apartment in Paris - in a reception, in an apartment in Paris.

Describe your new album in three words?

Futuristic, alternative and dope.

What is your main message that you want to put across with your music?

Have loads of fun. Don’t do drugs. Go to school but do it in the most chaotic and unorganised way possible!

If you could get rid of one artist in the music industry who would it be?

I hate to do it but.. Justin Bieber you’ve got to go, sorry Bruv!

What has been your biggest achievement of your career so far?

I don’t know still being here I guess... still making money out of it and still enjoying myself after more than 10 years in the business - I would say that’s the biggest achievement. Also still being together as a group especially after the hangover arguments we’ve had and stuff!

Do you like the foreign beggars groupies?

They have a special place in our collective heart.

What was the last record that you bought?

It was Flying Lotus, ‘Cosmic Grammar’.

Where is your favourite place in the world?

At home, with my wife and my son, it’s got to be that. As a group though I dunno I guess Australia is pretty fun.

Where were you and what were you doing this time yesterday?

Umm, I was here. I was probably changing a nappy and trying to fill out spread sheets at the same time.

Favourite album of the moment?

I don’t know! I don’t really have a favourite album at this minute but I’m really liking Crystal Clear - I’m really liking his music, I want to see him do well and I would like to collaborate with him.
