One to watch: Bwana

Mysterious Canadian Bwana looks poised for big things this year. After an attention-grabbing mix for Will Saul’s Aus Music Rinse FM show back in November 2014, he released his first EP for the label, Flute Dreams, in December.
The multi-layered title track’s flute arpeggios and climactic nature earned it a place in Sasha and Huxley’s BBC Essential Mixes, was remixed by Simian Mobile Disco, and appeared in Mixmag’s Top 10 Tunes of December. Meanwhile, the twinkly epicness of Aomame and reverberating chords of Fizzle earned the overall EP a rare glowing Resident Adviser review.
Monki included him in her “Tips for 2015” for her end-of-year 1Xtra show, Disclosure are fans, and he’s even featured in an American Apparel photoshoot – if that’s not a recipe for success, then we don’t know what is.
