Coming up in February, Egg are presenting us with not one but TWO crazy house events in one weekend.
Where : Egg LDN
When: 20th and 21st February
Kerri Chandler has made a lasting contribution to house music. For more than two decades has the New Jersey born producer and DJ been producing deep house sounds on international major labels and revered underground outlets alike. Wherever you look, be it the pumping house of the Shelter EP, the jazz inflections of his on-going Thing For Linda EPs or the coming together of tradition and innovation on albums like A Basement, Redlight and A Feeling, Kerri has always aimed to prove that house music can be so much more than a passing club soundtrack.
Next, Fur Coat are a Venezuelan duo plucked by Damian Lazarus for his influential Crosstown Rebels imprint. They have released one heart warming full length of tortured vocals and warm beats and have turned in plenty of great remixes between gigs around the world at the leading clubs and festivals.
The second of two special events over the 20th and 21st of February will see a special guest plus Sven Weisemann, Luke Hess, Blackhall & Bookless, Alexander Koning and more all play. Despite his young age, headliner Sven Weisemann has been DJing since 1997. As a producer, his music draws deeply on the legacy of Chicago and Detroit, yet somehow manages to end up sounding as fresh as a daisy as well as being super deep.
Next up is someone who is just as deep - Luke Hess is a Detroit dub techno producer who has hooked up with Omar S many times and releases his excellent EPs and LPs on FXHE as well as others.
Finally, Blackhall & Bookless have been best friends and musical sparring partners for more than a decade now. As such they have played every club and festival worth knowing around the world, and having recently launched their own Jaunt> Records imprint, the guys have already tasted success with a series of well-received jams courtesy of the Se7en EP. As DJs, producers and label heads, Blackhall & Bookless’ stock continues to shine brightly in the underground sphere and with a string of quality cuts in the pipeline, you can expect to hear a lot more from them over the next while…
What a weekend to look forward to in February! The weeks leading up to this crazy 2-day party are going to fly by so don't sleep on tickets!
