A Guide To Bugged Out Weekender 2015

Brace yourself...for Bugged Out Weekender 2015! The notorious Bugged Out crew have done it once again - transforming the Butlins flagship resort in Bognor Regis into a clubbers descent for a long weekend in January 2015. The huge auditoriums, which are normally used for Butlins' cabaret shows, are morphed into giant rave rooms, bringing in body-rattling Funktion One sound systems to blow your beat-loving mind, tickle your ears (just a bit) and make your disco feet move.
Already making your ears twitch and your feet tap? Imagine this... The four rooms shaking to the sound of nothing less than unforgettable set from the legends that are The Chemical Brothers - who had such a good time at Bugged Out 2013, they personally asked to come back.
Todd Terje's ecstatic live show, Tiga and a full-blown beat lover's dream line up make up the three day event, featuring the likes of Dusky, Erol Alkan, Heidi, Kerri Chandler, Shadow Child and Axel Boman to name a very few. Weekender virgins joining for the first time (most likely not the last) are, so far, Four Tet, Totally Enormous Exctinct Dinosaurs (live and DJ set) Ãme and The Streets' main man Mike Skinner - not to be missed!
For the troopers, there are a host of daytime activities. The made-famous Bugged Out pool party, a DJ competition, Pub Quiz and Beat Bingo. You can even choose to stay in either the incredible newly built hotels or apartments that house up to seven lucky guests.
With an immaculate line up of house, techno and bass music, this might already be the event of the year - you will leave saturated with dance music and no doubt a load of random, new friends.
In 2014, Bugged Out celebrated their 20th anniversary. Throughout the year they marked the significant milestone with unmissable parties, continuing the birthday celebrations with what has become their flagship event - the renowned Bugged Out Weekender. Stages at Bugged Out 2015
There are four huge entertainment auditoriums in the Butlins resort, transformed into rave rooms - we are still waiting on details of exact set locations and times. There is also the Splash Waterworld (a reconstructed tropical paradise), hosting the pool parties!
Bugged Out will welcome fellow club partners The Hydra to host their own stage. The Hydra - whose name comes from Greek mythology meaning "a beast with many heads", live up to their name time and time again and never fail to put on an exceptional party of cutting edge music.
Over the course of the beat-filled weekender, they proudly host Optimo, Four Tet, Jackmaster, Ben UFO, Dolan Bergin and many more...Plus an extra special never done before 10 hands on decks back to back session! Trust the Hydra to throw something like this our way.
Activities
The infamous Bugged Out pool parties on the Saturday & Sunday, each one hosted by a huge artist which will be announced before the weekender (last year's notable party was hosted by Skream). The Splash Waterworld water park has everything from rapids, water cannons, wave machines, massive inflatables, jacuzzis, a few secret surprises AND more flumes than a hyped-up bunch of party goers could dream of... My personal fave being the Master Blaster - it's all in the name really.
We also have 'Mad Wi It' - the crazy golf tournament hosted by Jackmaster which is kickin' up major excitement already! By the sounds of it this isn't going to be a one off feature of the future Bugged Out Weekenders' agendas.
Mixmag will join the Bugged Out super-party and throw a secret one of their own somewhere within the crazy Butlins resort. The Mixmag team have boasted the awesome space they have found for 100 people, but that is all they are giving away... So it is up to you to find them! Jackmaster stole the show at the last Mixmag secret party at the second Bugged Out weekender of 2014, and what a party it was!
There is also going to be a DJ competition - the Thump DJs give you the opportunity to perform alongside huge names. There will be Bugged Out pub quizzes and loads more - never a dull moment.
Artists at Bugged Out 2015
With over 40 of the hottests acts right now, both new and of legendary status, the line up for this one is off the hook. Here's a rundown of a few of the Guestlist favourites - sure to be highlights of the weekender.
Chemical Brothers
What a delight to hear that these guys will be top of the tunes at Bugged Out 2015...Probably the most exciting act of the weekend for most of us. With a new album in the works set for release this year, the boys have in their own words been "dreaming of new sounds to share with us" so we will be listening out for some new tracks to make our ears extra happy at this one. The Chemical Brothers, being Bugged Out fans themselves, will play their 3rd weekender having played their first one way back in the early years of the millennium year 2000.
Dusky
Bugged Out fanatics who can do no wrong. Dusky are back again after a series of sell-out events with both Bugged Out and The Hydra over the last two years - the Dusky boys are getting bigger and bigger and with that signature sound of theirs, we can see why. With a tummy-tinglingly exciting year ahead, this is going to be one of the first unforgettable performances of the new year. Dusky and Bugged Out are a dream team, so it's highly recommended you make this gig one of your must-sees at Bugged Out 2015.
Erol Alkan
Adding a little more of a techno touch to the line up, Phantasy records boss Erol Alkan is well known for laying down techno in spaces not always made for such and doing so with great success! So here he is, doing it again at Butlins resort! Keeping a new generation of kids dancing, and focusing on his DJing gigs since 2008, he always manages to keep things fresh, exciting and new with his legendary status - this one will be another banger.
So pack your flippers, prepare your ears, polish up your best pair of dancin' shoes, type BUGGED OUT WEEKENDER onto your sat nav screens and leave your tents at home - start 2015 with a bang. See you there!
