Dracula was never going to be the blockbuster of the year but in the genre that it fits in then I must say it is a very good film. What I liked about it was that it was only 92 minutes long. The reason this is so important is that it allows the film to progress quickly and not become boring.
The action in the film is fantastic, when Evans is mortal and immortal it really is all about him. The powers that he gains make him absolutely unstoppable and he tears through the armies of the Sultan Mehmed (Dominic Cooper) with complete ease.
The film leads up to a rather disappointing final clash between Dracula and Mehmed. Mehmed uses Dracula's weaknesses against him which was not nice to see. Dracula was supposed to be undefeatable and was tearing through armies and to see him be so weak in the final battle left me with a sour taste in my mouth.
The overall feel from the film was complete and utter fantasy and if you enjoy that type of film then I would recommend you go and see it. The costumes are very good and the acting is decent. I would give it a solid 7/10
