Corsica is a French island in the middle of the Mediterranean located 200km from the Côte d’Azur, nicknamed Beauty Island for it’s stunning, mountainous landscapes. While the scenery may be gorgeous, the Corsican people are less than friendly towards tourists, so a word of advice - if you want to make the best of your visit to Corsica, leave your bumbag at home and don’t wear socks with flip-flops. Ever.
1. With it’s crystalline sea and white sandy beaches, picturesque Corsica is up there with the best of the Caribbean.
2. It’s closer than the Caribbean. You can be basking on the sand within 2 hours of boarding your plane.
3. There’s loads to explore. If you’re the kind of person that gets fidgety on the beach, there’s plenty of mountain villages and towns close by to check out.
4. If you’re a fan of seafood, the fish is fantastic. Not cheap, but well worth it.
5. It’s the place to go if you’re trying to avoid over-crowded tourist hotspots. Still relatively unspoilt and off the beaten track, you really will feel like you’ve escaped the city in this oasis of calm.
