The Royal Sounds 'Family', London grown raw talent!

Reggae | Wednesday 5th February 2014 | Noam

The first time I saw the Royal Sounds was in this little basement-like stage in Brixton at an Oxfam fundraising gig. I was quickly impressed by their professionality and their energy. Unfortunately for them, sound issues and a crowd with a significant lack of enthusiasm could have ruined everything, but they kept going and didn't let adversity affect their positive vibes. Their conscious music was surprisingly versatile and innovative. The pleasure of having such promising young talent before my eyes was incommensurable. A bit like that moment before you have that first bite of a warm, freshly baked loaf of bread.

Their recent release with the talented Ras Sempah, entitled 'The Awakening' really shows the extent of their potential. A promising track aligned with the current dub trends, but nonetheless avant-gardiste. This track is part of Ras Sempah's promotion CD coming out early March.
