Awake Presents A Month of Sundays

7th April marks the first birthday of Awake, one of London’s most talked about Sunday parties. To celebrate, we shall be showcasing a selection of some of the capital’s finest emerging underground talent in ‘A Month of Sundays’, a series of 12 hour daytime parties at Islington’s Metalworks. The past 12 months really have been something to celebrate for Awake; our hugely successful monthly events at the South East London clubbing Mecca that is Cable seeing overwhelmingly positive and energised crowds of over 400 dancing until 6 am Monday morning to the likes of Hot Since 82, Richy Ahmed, Simon Baker and Noir. For the first in the birthday series, music will be thrown down by 12 up and coming DJs on rotation, a marathon 12 hour spin of the finest deep and tech house music in an effort to thank the Awake massive and to welcome newcomers to the amazing vibes our parties bring. Playing alongside resident DJs Dirty Filthy Soul and Ben Cain are Face (Cultured), Simon Morell (FINA/Dessous), Andy Lemay (Somethinksounds/Dimentions Festival), Dirtycheeks, Ibellini (Peculiar) David Beiger, Adrian Forster (ETA/Cityseven),You-Beht (Alfalfa), Jonny Miller (Soul Candi) and Danny Asensio.
For our daytime shindig we will be taking over one of our favourite venues, Islington Metalworks, a hidden gem nestled at the back of Angel station. Not only does this versatile and unique space boast an ideal location and fantastic production levels, its courtyard houses a quirky tube carriage cocktail bar and indoor barbecue. Under its glass roof basking in the spring sunlight, this is definitely going to be a daytime party that dreams are made of! So sack off the pub, Sunday roast and slippers and come and join us for what is surely going to be one of London’s most memorable Sunday day raves of 2013.
