New night Policy is going big for NYE
Taking place at The Arch (formely Hoxton Gallery), Policy is all about attention to detail.
The NYE event runs from 9pm until 6am so offers plenty of time to experience a high-end Pure Groove sound system from Danley Sound Labs, which is exclusive to the UK circuit, plus a visual feast of cutting edge lighting and characterful décor. Rather than cramming people in and cashing out, Policy wants you to feel loved from the first beat to the last.
Playing those beats are some authentic underground stars. First up are Dungeon Meat - house music’s undisputed kings of party-starting in 2015. With a fresh precedent for no nonsense, basement-primed sonic weaponry, expect them to bring in the New Year full throttle, with a sweaty, writhing and thunderous bang. Joining the boys at the helm is Tom Demac. Committing tracks only to the most heavyweight of underground labels, including Hypercolour, Aus Music, Liebe Detail, Connaisseur and Cocoon, his sound is satisfyingly left-of-centre without ever forsaking the dancefloor and the simple things that make it tick.
Also at the controls is the London / Berlin traversing Jay Shepheard, a longtime favourite DJ who can wield a wide spectrum of flavours with consummate ease. After a year of heavy touring, Jay’s re-united himself with the studio, so expect a slew of fresh Retrofit ammo and exclusive self-penned remix material. Policy also welcomes a DJ and producer who may be a fresh name to some - Hivern Discs' Kresy. The Asturias resident first came to attention via the stunning ‘Day into Night’, which came out on Talabot's label in 2012 and his sets very much reflect the rich, elegant yet envelope-pushing spirit it harbours.
All of this is to go down at The Arch, and it will be the last time the space is ever used for a party before Network Rail move in to take it over for themselves. It is a historic place which is truly atmospheric, adding something extra special to an already epic night.
