This video has to be one of the most inspiring and thought provoking videos on the internet. In this 10 minute clip, filled to the brim with important life lessons and dream-inspiring lyrics, Will discusses the journey to success. He tells the story of his father tearing down a brick wall and making 12-year-old Will and his brother rebuild it. After Will and his brother spent a year and half replacing the wall brick by brick his father turned to them and said, ‘now don’t you ever tell me there’s something you can’t do’ - it seems this notion was the cement to the foundation of Will’s journey.
Sometimes we can get caught up in the everyday life of routine, and trapped in what society is telling us we should be or do, dreams get put on hold and living for today takes first place. In this clip Will brings all those timeless ideas and aspirational hopes to your eyes and ears. ‘The first step before anyone else in the world believes it is you have to believe it. Doing things that you believe in is the best investment, according to business man and rapper Jay Z. This short video is a collection of some of the most moving words and thought-provoking philosophies from the man himself. Jay Z talks about having a number of doors shut on him when he began his journey but, he says, ‘the genius thing that we did is that we didn’t give up.’ When Jay Z first played a track to his uncle his uncle told him he would never be as good as LL Cool J. Having doubts or being afraid is a normal feeling but Jay Z tells fans that no matter what anyone says to you, you have to have the focus. Most loved quote: ‘I think the difference between success and failure is opportunity’.
J. Cole
In a recent interview J. Cole explained how fortunate he is to be in a position to have some of the most inspiring conversations with a man filled to the brim with valuable knowledge like, Jay Z. Perhaps Jay Z and J. Cole share a bit more than just the letter ‘J’; this video demonstrates inspiration at its finest. J. Cole’s was told he ‘makes the struggle seem beautiful’ and this short documentary captures some of the most motivating and honest words from Cole himself.
Discussing his artistic progression, Cole talks about how he had to work for two years while fitting in studio time. Cole tells us how his mum didn’t tell him just how difficult his journey to success was going to be because she knew he wouldn’t have continued his journey (and aren’t we glad she didn’t tell him). Captivating New York scenes serve as a visual in this beautiful struggle described in less than 5 minutes.
