Recession? What Recession?

The Academies are a Hampstead-based company providing “fun and inspirational school holiday camps at the best schools with the best coaches.”
Paul Clarke, the founder of the Academies started out as a P.E. teacher at University College School before focusing his ideas on this project. The Academies began as just Sports Academies previous to its expansion where it now encompasses art, performance and language academies as well Tiny Tots Academies for three to five year olds. The North-London Company caters mainly for 6-13 year old children and they work by the principle of ‘unleashing potential.’
Paul Clarke began his initial sports camps during the midst of the recession and has grown ever since. The trigger behind the start of the Academies was his belief that typically during a recession people have more kids and the demand for childcare would increase. Six years on he has been proved right as the Academies have flourished and now has camps in 20 locations around the UK. The success of these academies should be attributed to Paul Clarke, and his endeavors during the uncertainty of a recession have proved to be fruitful.
Here is a company that bucked the trend during the recession and made money rather than losing it. From its humble beginnings as simple sports camps for a few children, the Academies has blossomed into a country-wide phenomenon and shows no signs of slowing down.
