Silent Bands To Play At Reading And Leeds
You've probably heard of a Silent Disco before but now, Reading and Leeds will bring to you the Silent Band.
In Silent Disco style, festival goers will put on their headphones and dance until the early hours of the morning but this time, the new development in silent partying means that instead of listening to DJs playing sing-a-long classics, live bands will take to stage.
Festival boss Melvin Benn explained that "For a long time we’ve had the silent arena or the silent disco type activity and this year we're launching for the first time silent band. It will happen through the night where bands will play and people will sing along to them and have a great time wearing headphones. It’s live but it’s late at night when I’m not allowed to make a lot of loud noise, it’s a bit of fun.”
The Silent Band will kick off after midnight allowing those who want to carry on the festival activities till the sun comes up, to party without feeling guilty about making too much noise!
Along with the new addition of the Silent Band, Leeds and Reading will introduce the BBC Radio 1 Dance Stage as well as the BBC Radio 1Xtra Stage. This year's festivals will also see the Relentless Stage move into the woods to create a whole new atmosphere.
With just a week to go until this year's festivals, Reading tickets have sold out . If you want to experience the Silent Band as well as listen to the likes of Biffy Clyro, Eminem, Green Day, Chase and Status, Nine Inch Nails and hundreds of other great acts, it looks like you'll have to get your hands on a Leeds Weekend Ticket which are still currently available.
