What 'Da Funk' - Daft Punk Don't Show But Are Now Rumoured For MTV VMAs
It seems that Daft Punk just keep on letting their fans down.
Last night Daft Punk were set to perform on the US late night show The Colbert Report. However the French DJ duo pulled a no show. In an attempt to prevent putting a downer on the evening, Colbert performed a full dance routine to Daft Punk's number one hit 'Get Lucky' and was joined by Hugh Laurie, Bryan Cranston (Malcolm in the Middle) and Matt Damon among others. He even danced his way onto the America's Got Talent Stage. Check out the video below.
The reason behind Daft Punk's no show is supposedly a breach of contract which has sparked strong rumours that they will make a surprise appearance on the 25th later this month at MTV's VMA awards. But will they show?
Daft Punk rumours have already been wrong this year. Earlier this summer, strong rumours were circulated that they would play at this year's Glastonbury Festival. Fans however were met firstly with Fat Boy Slim's practical joke, as his wife, Zoe Ball ran on stage with a Daft Punk helmet on the Friday night. The following night fans were again let down as instead of finding the French DJ duo at the Arcadia stage they found the second performance of the night from Chase and Status.
So, will the duo make it 'Around The World' to Brooklyn for the MTV VMAs and allow the MTV producers to 'Get Lucky' by successfully securing a performance by the elusive duo? Or will they let us down 'One More Time'?
