Egg LDN welcomes legendary Belgian techno label R&S Records this Saturday July 21st with Mariel Ito, Evigt Morker & more

House | Wednesday 18th July 2018 | Nicky

Mariel Ito is the alias of Eric Estornel, an American producer and selector who is currently based in Barcelona. The last time Estornel released under this moniker was in the early to mid-00’s, during his affair with electro and IDM laced sounds.

The project has recently been revived in the form of a new EP on R&S titled ‘2000 - 2005’ which is due to be released at the end of August 2018. Part of the new wave of talent gracing the label, it only makes sense to host Mariel Ito for such an occasion, celebrating the classic and contemporary artists who’ve remained intrinsic to the label since it re-launched in 2008.

Renaat Vandepapeliere, the man who has spearheaded the label since 1984, holds a status as one of the most innovative and energetic personalities in electronic music. Responsible for licensing early tracks from Aphex Twin, Joey Beltram, CJ Bolland and many more. Vandepapeliere has helped shaped electronic music as we know it today Full of charisma and drive, he makes a lasting impression, be it behind the decks or in the calm of daylight - Vandepapeliere is the epitome of a game changer in the electronic realm.

Evigt Mörker, Ada Kaleh, G-Prod complete the line-up to showcase some of the talents behind their releases on R&S, driving an emotionally charged sound which touches on minimal techno fuelled with spirited, exotic rhythms from start to finish.
