Wednesday 10th July 2013 | Vilma

With limitless opportunities of what to see and where to go, Portugal offers a thrilling, entertaining and simply enjoyable summer break this holiday season.

What to Do

The options are endless, but for magnificent Romantic architecture head to the town of Sintra and its numerous palaces including Quinta de Regaleira and the Pena National Palace. The Southern Region of Algarve boasts amazing water sport opportunities, stunning beaches as well as a unique chance to swim with dolphins at the Zoomarine theme park.

What to Eat

Portugal is known for some incredible food traditions such as the pastel de nata- a mouthwatering egg tart pastry sprinkled with cinnamon that has become the most sought-after dish by both locals and visitors. The manufacturing of the best cheese in the country is limited to the mountainous area of Serra da Estrela, so it’s something all cheese-lovers need to experience. To top off a night of Portugese food, why not try some sweet Port wine to go with it?

Where to Party

The stunning seaside town of Vilamoura in Southern Portugal is every party animals paradise! For the finest house and techno music, head to Kadoc and its five dance floors that are always busy with party goers dancing the night away. For a thrilling gaming experience, visit  Casino Vilamoura located right by the finest beaches of the area. Sudoeste festival (7-11th August) is a bargain since with a five day ticket costing only £82 you get to see world-class acts such as Calvin Harris, Janelle Monae and Fatboy Slim.
