Sing is Illumination Entertainments longest film yet, and it doesn’t disappoint.
With 85 hit songs spanning from 1940 to 2016, the film gets you tapping your feet in the cinema. The mix of classic songs brings back nostalgia for the adults and the hits get the kids excited, it keeps everyone entertained.
This star packed film uses voice actors such as Scarlet Johansson, Reese Witherspoon and Matthew McConaughey, everyone singing with conviction that either gets you laughing or singing along. The film is based around a hustler who wants to save his theatre with a singing competition, changing the lives of the contestants and his own in an unexpected way.
The storyline of this film keeps you laughing and is relatable to a wide range of ages, from the overworked housewife to a moody teenager, but it’s the use of music that makes this film worth watching. This film uses music to change the moods of the characters, and shows that you can change your outlook on life by just letting go for a little bit; that sometimes just ‘singing’ can change everything.
