Wednesday 31st August 2016 | Francesco
It all starts with Saint Leonard's Horses, who had been able to record his debut album at the estate of the acclaimed and beloved director Stanley Kubrick. On thursday, September 15, Rio Cinema will host Saint Leonard's Horses, who will play a live show, and it will be followed by a short film - 'You, Me & Ulysses', a film about the album's journey.
The evening will also involve the projection of Kubrick's timely comedic masterpiece 'Dr Strangelove'. Dr. Strangelove is a 1964 political black comedy that is set during the Cold War, satirising fears of a nuclear conflict between the world's most powerful countries. It is based on Peter George's novel Red Alert.
There will be an aftershow with drinks and an informal Q & A with the team behind the record with special guest DJ's in Nan's Cocktail Bar, directly beneath the cinema.
Saint Leonard’s Horses’ debut album ‘Good Luck Everybody’ will be released on 14 October 2016 through Xtra Mile Recordings. With a cinematic album performed live at the Rio Cinema, alongside a screening of the Stanley Kubrick classic ‘Dr Strangelove’, you will be able to spend a special night in the strange and esoteric world of Saint Leonard’s Horses.
