The UKF summer drum & bass compilation

Drum and Bass | Friday 28th June 2013 | sam

On Sunday the 30th of June the billion-view scoring bass culture brand UKF is releasing UKF Summer Drum &Bass on download, CD and stream.

The 20 track compilation features this summer’s biggest drum & bass tracks and mixes including Friction, Netsky, Fred V & Grafix, Hybrid Minds, Calyx & TeeBee, Wilkinson, Rollz, Die & Jenna G, Artificial Intelligence & Kathy Brown and more.

Launched in 2009, UKF has risen up to become leading curator of bass music worldwide, with 5.5 million subscribers and over 1 billion hits on their YouTube channels.

I personally think most of the drum and bass I’ve listened to through UKF lacks depth and soul, its more drum & pop rather than drum & bass, like someone’s stuck an amen break on there favorite Katy Perry tune. But each to there own. I can tell from listening to the compilation it will be a hit with its target audience and not all the tracks are bad - there are a few summer bangers.

If your new to drum and bass then UKF is probably your first source to go to because of its popularity and its all over YouTube. But if you are starting to find UKF an unfulfilling source of music, and you're looking for something with more depth, soul and BASS! Then it’s worth checking out record labels such as Innerground, V recordings, Playaz, spearhead, jungle cakes, dread recordings, ganja records, shogun audio, Philly blunt records, or check out free podcast mix’s on iTunes like the random movement and DNBTV podcasts.
