Drum & Bass has spoken | The Drum&BassArena Awards

Drum and Bass | Thursday 3rd December 2015 | Arren

The drum & bass community voiced their opinions for the annual Drum&BassArena Awards.

The award ceremony took place at the Brixton Electric, and brought together everyone from fans and DJs to industry insiders in the biggest celebration of drum & bass.

Jenna G and Charlie T were hosting the night that saw performances from the UK DMC winner JFB, the singer/songwriter Riya, the original don General Levy, and a special B2B rinse out from Serum and Bladerunner closed the show.

After weeks of voting, the awards were announced and covered everything in drum & bass. It was the Dutch super group Noisia who came out on top grabbing three awards, including an awkward winning of Best Live Act without ever performing a live show.

Other winners included the Hospital crew, nabbing two awards for Best Label and Best Club Night whilst their new signee Maduk won Best Newcomer DJ. Diane Charlemagne had her memory honoured at the event and she was entered into the Hall of Fame alongside Mampi Swift. The Best DJ went to, who else, Andy C and a surprised Mefjus won the category for Best Album.

Now in its seventh year, the Drum&BassArena Awards are quickly becoming one of the most important dates in the drum & bass calendar, giving those whose lives are drum & bass a chance to take a break together and celebrate all their hard work!
