Reggae Roast and Brother Culture are back together

Reggae | Wednesday 5th August 2015 | Christina

The Reggae Roast crew are back with another hot record.

Following on from ‘Soundsystem', one of the biggest Reggae tracks of the summer, Reggae Roast keep it moving with their new EP The Flava – six tracks of UK digi madness! With huge support from the likes of David Rodigan, Ras Kwame, Ray Keith and many more, this EP demonstrates why Reggae Roast are at the forefront of the UK Reggae resurgence.

Brother Culture is one of the UK’s greatest reggae lyricists and artists, who after starting his career around 1982 has been travelling the world spreading the positive message of Rastafari. He’s joined forces and worked with many other world renowned artists over the years such as The Prodigy, Mungo’s Hi-Fi, Adrian Sherwood & Manasseh.

Teaming up with Reggae Roast once more, he showcases his conscious lyricism and trademark vocal style throughout the record – on ‘Same Ol’ Story’ he plays the role of history lecturer with lines like “then World War Two led to Hiroshima when everything in the world get nuclear, the nuclear bomb led to the cold war, the East Germans build the Berlin Wall….the invasion of Kuwait, it was the first Gulf War, Saddam Hussein against Bush Senior….but wars don’t finish, the wars don’t end, it’s the same ol’ story all over again”.

Reggae Roast aren’t stopping just yet, with a brand new crisp musical biscuit from Kenny Knots & Conscious Sound, and a full length album from Adam Prescott still to come this year.
