Get a sneak peek of Julio Bashmore's new album Knockin' Boots

House | Tuesday 7th July 2015 | Annalisa

They say good things come to those who wait, and one such artist proving this proverb correct is Julio Bashmore. Since bursting out of the Bristol house scene in 2009, Bashmore has maintained a steady presence on dancefloors around the world and on the rosters of some of the best electronic labels around.

Five years on, Bashmore is preparing to unleash his long-awaited debut album on the world on August 7th. Red Bull Studios will host an exclusive video premiere of the album for 48 hours, giving fans a chance to hear a sneak preview of the tracks a full month before they’re released. The brilliantly shot short film is a humorous and charming profile of Julio Bashmore, giving an insight into his life and world, featuring clips of some of his closest friends and family in some of his favorite haunts across Bristol and London.

Knockin’ Boots is the culmination of five years of intensive experimentation and honing of the Bashmore sound: an ultra-vivid, totally authentic, raw and rowdy house music record that keeps the dirt and the soul of the music intact. The album was recorded at Red Bull Studios in London Bridge, where he was Artist-in-Residence throughout 2014, a culmination of their long-standing relationship.

As a continuation of the ongoing collaboration, Julio Bashmore has also curated a one-off exhibition in the very space where the album was predominantly recorded, Red Bull Studios, giving fans a unique insight into his creative processes and inspirations. Featuring a range of installations, artworks and photographs that document Bashmore’s record label, Broadwalk Records, the exhibition, in partnership with creative studio Beach London, will also feature several special giveaways for fans. The exhibition will take place from 27th-31st July, 10am-7pm daily.

Bashmore will host and perform at an exclusive album launch party at London Fields Brewery on the evening of Friday 31st July. Tickets will be available via a free ballot through DICE App from 7th July.
