June Miller drops the technically incredible, overtly powerful Robots & Romans.

Drum and Bass | Thursday 2nd July 2015 | Arren

The drum & bass duo June Miller have put together an album that will have you shaking by the end. Robots & Romans is a combination of cinematic interludes, brain-churning build-ups and technical genius that’s all rounded off with tectonic bass levels. Standard. It's an adventure in sound, one that’s intricate, emotional and at points a little overwhelming. There are many unexpected twists and turns that make it impossible to have your attention focused anything but every last second of every last track.

Each track completely engrosses you with its technical ability, demanding your attention and all for good reason! Robots & Romans contains vast atmospheres created from complicated layers of sound before drops of atomic proportions, some of a rather experimental nature. It's not all peculiar drum patterns and overloaded percussion loops though, 'Stormtrooper' featuring Virus Syndicate is an intense half time jab to the chest and 'Further Seems Forever' is filled to the brim with emotion. Taking things a little more chilled with a liquid vibe is 'We Are Not Human', which is finished off with soft vocals from Hannah Lux.

June Miller has produced an album that encompasses drum & bass in all its forms, with a heavy lean on the technical, ever-popular neurofunk sound. It stands true to June Miller’s trademark sound - music that can completely fill a room. It’s invasive, intimidating and certainly not for the faint hearted!
