Sonar, Off we go!
Sonar festival is one of the world’s most famous music and multimedia art festivals. Every summer it gains popularity!
Based in Barcelona it runs from June 13th through 15th.
This year they’re celebrating the 20th edition of the festival. This is a massive occasion and the line-up’s impressive. You can expect to see Bat for Lashes, Chromatics, Gold Panda, Breakbot, Major Lazer, Kraftwerk and Paul K, among others!
It’s always happening, even between gigs! Sonarcinema are screening high quality audiovisual work. This year’s highlight is sure to be Andy Capper’s ‘Reincarnated’, an eagerly awaited documentary about Snoop Dogg’s transformation.
During the festival a ton of labels and promoters organise huge parties across Barcelon, imaginatively titled ‘Off Sonar’, and these events can become more popular than the festival they coincide with! During 10 days of complete madness, Off Sonar combine roof and pool parties with and a huge variety of music. Here are some highlights:
June 12th: Half Baked host a showcase with Petre Inspirescu
June 14th: Crew Love present Wolf + Lamb at the auditorium
June 16th: The Secretsundaze at la Terrazza with Chez Damien.
