The countdown to Record Store Day is on

Monday 8th April 2013 | Varala

What started out as a gathering for today’s vinyl-loving community is now an annual day of indie music celebration. This year’s festivities are set for 20th April, with White Stripes’ Jack White channelling the role of Record Store Day ambassador. Record shops across the country will be participating, and there’ll be loads of new releases, exclusives, performances, and of course; queues upon queues of vinyl seekers everywhere.

If you’re not sure how to plan your Record Store Day, we’ve got the London highlights for you here:

Audio Gold will feature a free turntable surgery in their London store, offering advice on how to resurrect some of those records players in need of minor repairs. There’ll be exclusives on sale and live bands performing all day as well.

If Music has limited edition releases in store and acoustic sets by: William Adamson (11.30-12.15), Tom Price-Stephens (12.30- 1.30) and Da Lata (from 3). Then hit the dance floor at Plastic People nightclub to celebrate 10 years of If Music with DJS:  Jean-Claude, Patrick Forge, Marc Mac, Nick Salmon.

Notting Hill promises a line-up of DJs Sean P and Richard ‘Padded Cell’ Sen, competitions and 10% off all second hand records.
