More Download acts confirmed
Tuesday 6th November 2012 | David
The rock and metal festival is shaping up to be pretty amazing this year, with several further bands announced for the bill.
Following the confirmation of Slipknot, Iron Maiden and Rammstein, who will be headlining the festival, speculation has become fact as Queens Of The Stone Age will be making their Download debut. Joining them are 30 Seconds to Mars, The Gaslight Anthem, HIM, Motorhead, Alice In Chains and A Day To Remember, with many more acts still to be announced.
Along with all the other acts playing, organiser Andy Copping is excited about the prospect of another great Slipknot show. He stated that “Slipknot's last appearance at Download has gone down in the festival's history as one of the best ever headline sets.” I can attest to that – I was there and it was mental. Copping went on to say “God knows what they’ll have in store for 2013 but I'm looking forward to seeing how they'll top the last one.” With the ten bands so far confirmed, it’s going to be at least on a par with last year’s festival, if not better.
Let’s just hope it isn’t as much of a washout, or we may be seeing more of this:
