A guide to the ultimate day in “London By the Sea”

Less than an hours train ride from the London, there is no excuse not to take a day trip and explore this vibrant urban city by the sea. With countless quirky, unique shops, restaurants and bars to enjoy, you’ll be hard stretched to fit everything into one day. To help you make the most of this colourful city, here is the lowdown on the best things to do and see in Brighton:

Scoff Fish and Chips on Brighton Pier

A trip to this seaside resort would not be complete without taking a stroll down the famous Brighton Pier. Play like a big kid in the amusement arcades, indulge in some fish and chips and take in the spectacular view - on a clear day you can see all the way to the Isle of White from the top of the Helter Skelter!

Meander through The Lanes

Brighton’s medieval Lanes are a sprawling maze of tiny alleyways and passages brimming with beautiful one-off boutiques and jewelers and chic cafes and bars. Roaming through the bohemian quarter of the city, you will notice the buzzing cafe culture. If you are feeling peckish stop by Bills for great atmosphere, food and service. Bills is situated on North Road, and is open for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Act like a Royal at The Royal Pavillion

A visit to this beautifully ornate historic building is a must-do for anyone making the trip to Brighton. The interior and exterior of the pavillion are spectacularly opulent and wandering around the grounds makes for a peaceful break from the hustle and bustle of the centre.

Suss out what Brighton’s Nightlife has to Offer

Supposing you decide to stay for a night out in Brighton, you won’t be disappointed. The cities music scene is diverse and thriving and whatever your music preference, you will be spoilt for choice. One of the finest indie venues in the city is Concorde 2, a favorite among students and set in what was once a grand Victorian tea room. Other popular choices among Brighton’s student community are Digital, Komedia and The Honey Club.

Lastly, don’t forget to buy yourself a stick of Brighton rock as a souvenir!
