If you could not plan a nice summer holiday till now, it’s not too late; you still have time to go for a nice short summer break. September is neither too late for enjoying the fading summer, nor too early to bring out your woollens. It’s true that autumn is close but do not worry. The Guestlist Network has listed out the right places for you to travel and enjoy the year’s last warm sun rays.
Istanbul: When you are bored with most common places in Europe, it is the perfect time to explore Turkey’s most popular city, Istanbul. In Istanbul, it is slightly hotter in June and July but September weather will be relaxing. Istanbul’s major highlight is its historical architecture. Major attractions in the city are Haghia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and the huge market, Grand Bazaar. During your Istanbul trip, you surely need to try their famous drink - Raki (easily accessible) and of course try the Turkish kebabs and sea-food restaurants. It might be a populated city but it is one of those cities which should not be missed. Hold on! You cannot return from Istanbul without visiting Bosphorus. The best way to explore Bosphorus is by ferry. Do not forget to pre-book your ferry tickets because it gets really busy in this part of the year.
Cyprus: If Turkey doesn’t suits your taste, you can try a place closer to it - Cyprus, where you can enjoy the warm summer air along the sea-side. September or early October is the right time to visit Cyprus where you will surely get plenty of sunshine. Cyprus is an odd mixture of the West and the East. It has a rich western culture but also has a hint of East due to its geographical proximity to Asia and Africa. The best places to visit in Cyprus are the iconic archaeological sites at Kourion, Paphos Harbour & Castle, Troodos mountains, the entertaining city of Ayia Nappa, Larnaca Salt Lake and a day trip to Akamas peninsula. Cyprus is known for its painted churches; so do not miss the breathtaking monument, Panayia tou Araka. Your journey will be incomplete if you do not try their local food and beverages, available all across the city. Also, try the Cypriot coffee for a never-before taste and aroma.
Prague: Another place to explore in late September is the magical city of Czech Republic, Prague. It is known as the historical pearl of Europe, consisting more than 4,000 monuments. You can easily travel around Prague with any of the sightseeing tour guides who will take you to a fascinating journey, exploring and discovering the length and breadth of the city. It would be worth spending on the ride as they pick you straight from your hotel, take you to through the major attractions of Prague from Wenceslas Square to crossing Prague Castle, Museum of Decorative Arts and the Zizkov Tower. Along with sightseeing, they also provide relaxing boat rides, where you can easily check out the waterside attractions. It will also take you to Prague’s city centre where you can shop and pick up souvenirs for your loved ones back home. It is also the best time to give yourself an adrenaline rush with bungee jumping. It usually takes place on the bridge over the Vltava valley. This city is full of life, all about music, romance and has an amazing night life. On a trip to Prague you can also explore two other beautiful cities, Budapest and Vienna, which are accessible by train. I assure you that it would not be expensive for you to enjoy these three cultural capitals’ rich historic and opulent beauty. Just plan a four day trip.
Now what are you waiting for, you have a list of three amazing places; plan your trip and enjoy with your family and friends. You cannot miss this last chance to enjoy the summer this year. Have a safe and pleasant trip!
