Shooting At Empire State Building

Chaos at The Empire State Building this morning as police shot and killed a gunman.
The number of people injured during the incident, which unfolded around 9 am local time, has yet to be confirmed however it is speculated that between 4 and 10 people have been shot, with one victim reportedly being shot dead as well as the gunman.According to the New York Post, the shooter was out to get a coworker whom he shot down before turning his gun on innocent bystanders.
The attack comes little more than a month after San Diego student James Holmes opened fire on the un suspecting audience of the new Batman movie.For a while now people have been questioning America's gun legislation and there have recently been calls to stiffen laws.Oddly enough just minutes before the attack the mayor of New York, Mayor Bloomberg had raised the idea of “too many guns” on his weekly radio show.
"The argument guns don't kill people, people kill people is one of the most disingenuous things you can say,” he said shortly before 9 a.m.
Perhaps America is beginning to see the insanity of its lax gun legislation. As Mayor Bloomberg said " It does take a person to pull the trigger, but if they didn't have the gun... We are the only developed country in the world with this problem."
In light of recent events in the States and even less recent you could argue that 'Problem' is understating the situation. Its widely known that most American's carry guns, and are often irresponsible with them, so as sad as it is I'm sure the rest of the world isn't so surprised by whats happened. With real guns as easy to come by as toy guns is it any wonder people are running around shooting each other? Perhaps if they had reconsidered their loose gun laws sooner - way sooner - they woudn't have this 'problem'
Take a leaf out of our book America, ditch the guns, sit down have a cuppa and talk it out next time! And maybe think twice before you piss off that guy in the office!
