Take the politics out of... Spain

So as you probably know, recently Spain has been in a little bit of trouble financially. And when I say a ‘little’ bit of trouble, I, er, mean a lot. With the euro crashing and its banks failing, poor old Spain hasn’t been having too much fun. That, however, doesn’t mean that the rest of us can’t enjoy Spain in all of its glory! Here are just a few aspects about Spain that we at the Guestlist Network love.
1) It may be obvious, but the Spanish weather is, generally speaking, B-E-A-UTIFUL. Unless, for some bizarre reason you don’t like lovely hot summers, or you love rain (someone has to), in which case it’s probably not your cup of tea. For the rest of us who are looking to catch some rays and build up a decent tan Spain is the place to be! Either on one if its many beautiful beaches, or within some of its equally stunning cities, Spain is the place to be for good weather.
2) Spain actively endorses afternoon naps. Known for the traditional afternoon siesta, it is not uncommon in Spain for a cheeky after lunch snooze to take place, especially in the warmer seasons. What more can you ask for from a country other than lovely weather and an opportunity to sleep in the middle of the day without getting judged?
3) They’re good at football. Whether you like them or not, you can’t deny that the Spanish football team are one of the best in the world. After having stormed the Euros and crushing Italy 4-0 in the final, you can hardly deny that Spain know how to play football properly. Maybe they can teach the England team one day…
4) Cheap booze. Very cheap booze. Need I say anymore?
And finally…
5) While it may not have a tooth fairy, Spain does, in fact, have a tooth mouse. Don’t worry, you’re not going mad, you did read that correctly. It’s Spanish legend that if a child places a lost tooth under their pillow, Little Ratoncito Pérez will happily exchange it for a gift. It’s not often that you get people actively willing a mouse into their bedroom, but hey, if it’s offering you presents, why not?
So there you have it. It’s not all doom and gloom for Spain! While its economy may be crashing, and its banks failing, at least it still has that gorgeous weather and gift generating vermin. Adiós for now!
